ok guys... take it for what it is - an unconfirmed rumor, from an unconfirmed person passed on by a know, and usually reliable person on one of the main italian forums - but... it is said the first working final prototype is out and under testing... and before anyone asks, no, i do not have any single additional detail... i asked anyway if there is any news about the weight, if there is or not any increase and if there is any how much...
The moment is finally here! Tangible proof that the Alfa Romeo 4C is heading towards production, thanks to this scoop picture made in Italy. Though we already had information that the 4C was in its testing phase, we hadn’t seen any evidence yet, up to now. We can clearly see that this model is being prepared for the American market because of the reflector on the edge of the wheel arch. The air intake in the front has not been fitted with a decent grill yet and it seems that the classic ‘scudetto’ will be given another design than what we saw on the concept car. Our guess is it will ‘float’ and will be made out of chrome, like on the Giulietta. Besides this detail, the car is pretty much a copy of the concept we were introduced to in 2011, which is a good thing. Next year, this car will be introduced in the US and in Europe. This first real sporty Alfa Romeo in ages will be mid-engined and the power will be sent to the rear wheels. This creation was realized in cooperation with Dallara from Parma and the production will most likely take place in Modena, though this picture was taken in Turin. A new 1750 TBI engine will be manufactured in Southern Pratola Serra and will be used in the 4C. It will produce more than 300 bhp (oh, and the 4C weighs less than 1.000 kg).
