Nabavio sam dva Dellorta DRLA 40, koje je plan rastavit, prekontrolirat i prebrtvit...
Došla je i knjiga naručena iz Dellorto shopa u Velikoj Britaniji, jer bez znanja se ne može ništa:
Knjiga je prvenstveno pisana za instalaciju i podešavanje DRLA na VW motorima, ali ima i opčenitih dijelova i veliko brdo korisnih informacija.
Opisani su i DHLA ležeći karbovi i FRD jednostruki karbovi.

The Dellorto DRLA series of carburetors were originally developed for use on the Alfa Sud automobiles and manufactured in 36, 40 and 45mm size. The introduction of the DRLA carburetors eliminated many of the problems presented by the aging Weber IDF series.
The DRLA was a modern, state of the art carburetor that featured sealed ball bearing main shafts, improved fuel emulsion, and a double hinge float and fuel system that prevented fuel starvation due to high G forces encountered in high speed turns and S's.
The Weber IDF's previously used on the Alfa Sud had been adapted from an early model Fiat. The Dellorto DRLA represented a fresh new design that was less sensitive to altitude and temperature changes than the older IDF. Most of all, Dellortos presented less restriction to flow, and made more horsepower than Webers, model for model.
Prior to the availability of the DRLA carburetors the Weber IDF and IDA series were the dominate high performance carburetors in use bv VW and Porsche enthusiast. IDF's were available in 40, 44 and 48mm models.
Knjigu je napisao Bob Tomlinson... On je prvi donesao Weber, a zatim i Dellorto u SAD, te ih počeo koristiti, prodavati i servisirati.
Evo njegove izjave nakon pojave DRLA serije: "First there was Weber and nothing else, now there's Dellorto, and nothing else."
Na dosta mjesta sam čuo da su Weberi bolji, ali po ovome to pada u vodu...
Dellorto je noviji, moderniji, jednostavniji i bolji karburator.
