1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT Biturbo DRM
Historic Alfetta GT racing car very similar to that of “Team Isert” also known as Sachs Racing Team.
For regulatory reasons, to be able to start in the 2.0 liter class, this GTV had a 1.3 engine with bi-turbo charging and up to 465 cv. These GTVs were known as the “snow shovel.”
The initial bet was on the German Racing Championship, predecessor of the legendary DTM. As far as is known, the GTV never saw the destination flag, as the engine was really tight.
It was a 1.4 4 cylinder, with 81.0 x 69.0 mm 400 cv at 9.500 rpm. It was powered by Bosch injection and ignition and dry sump lubricación. The transmission was a five-speed Alfa with 85% differential locking effect. With an empty weight of 885 kg it managed to reach 290 km/h.
Owned and driven by Auto Alfa owner Charlie Linnaeus in Gothenburg, Sweden.
