1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza
Sold for: $6.71 million
Auction House: Gooding & Company
This year was a big one for vintage Alfa Romeo fans. Being the featured marque of the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance, Alfa Romeo had the largest presence on the green. This 1933 8C 2300 Monza took top honors as the most expensive example of the brand ever auctioned. With a supercharged 2.336-liter engine producing a modest (by today's standards) 165 horsepower, this little speedster was a force to be reckoned with back in the early '30s. Only 190 are thought to have been produced.
